Game: What's in the Bag
Preparation:
At a meeting prior to this activity, conduct a Sparks Brainstorm and ask the group to choose a theme (such as things you find around the house or things you find in nature). Remind them to bring an item the following session that reflects that theme (for example, bedroom: somebody can bring a small stuffed animal etc.).
Directions:
- Place three or four items in a paper bag.
- Blindfold each of the participating girls.
- Pass the bag around and, one at a time, ask each girl to pick out one item and describe what it feels like.
- Encourage them to use words such as smooth, rough, heavy, soft, etc.
- Let each girl guess what her object is, then have her remove her blindfold to see if she guessed correctly.
