Craft: Paper Bag Kiwi Bird

The kiwi is the national bird of New Zealand. Found only in New Zealand, this flightless bird has long hair-like brown plumage, minute wings and tail, and a very long beak with nostrils at the tip.

Materials Needed:kiwiwbag

  • Paper bags
  • Newspaper strips
  • Googly eyes
  • Feathers
  • Felt or Fun Foam
  • Elastic bands
  • Glue
  • Orange Markers

Instructions:

  1. Stuff your paper bag with newspaper.
  2. Fasten the stuffed bag with an elastic band.
  3. Colour the tip of the bag (from the elastic band to the end) orange to represent the beak.
  4. Cut out feet using felt or foam.
  5. Decorate your kiwi with feathers, googly eyes and felt feet.
