Pre-meeting activity: owl colouring page with googly eyes (Brownie Promise) and toadstool colouring page (Brownie Law)
6:00-6:05 pm
- Brownie opening song
- Recite the Brownie Promise
- Attendance/dues to be placed under the toadstool
6:05 – 6:10 pm
- Practice the Brownie motto, sign and handshake
6:10-6:15 pm
6:15 - 6:20 pm
6:20– 6:25 pm
- Discuss enrolment party and theme
- 3B Decide what food to have and who’s going to bring it
6:25 – 6:35 pm
- Practice run for enrolment party
- The girl who is about to be enrolled is brought forward by a second-year Brownie, (usually her Circle Leader) to stand over a mirror (or other shiny surface). The leader turns the girl around several times as she says:
Twist me and turn me and show me an elf;
I look in the water and there see _________.
The girl fills in the work “myself”. - Each girl should make the Brownie Promise at her enrolment.
- Brown Owl: Do you know that if you make your Brownie Promise you must always do your best to carry it out?
- New Brownie: Yes.
- Brown Owl: Come to the toadstool and make your Promise as a Brownie.
- New Brownie: (stands by the toadstool, makes the Brownie Sign)
I promise to do my best, my beliefs and Canda.
I will take action for a better world
And respect the Brownie Law. - Brown Owl: (pins on the enrolment pin and circle emblem and welcomes her with the Brownie Handshake) You are now a Brownie of the _________ Brownie Unit. I trust you to do your best for the unit.

- 4D Find out about your Brownie circle and its special songs
- Discuss each circle name/origin/song (*see circle sheets)
- Divide girls into circles and complete worksheet
6:45 – 7:10 pm

7:10 – 7:25 pm
- 4C Brownie Tie - Game: Brownie Knot Relay
7:25 – 7:30 pm
- Practice grand howl
- 3C Practice your Brownie Promise with your family and friends.

Closing reminders – give invitations for enrolment ceremony to parents, remind girls to come in costume for Halloween party
